It was a dream of our beloved founder to start an ICSE School in Thambuchetty Palya to provide Quality education to the children of this area. Thus, the seed of our institution were sown in 2012.

St Antony’s Public School - Events and Programmes 2019-2020

Education is not only about academics but about overall personality development. This includes cultural formation, development of talents, communication skills and physical education. As a result, St. Antony’s School organises extra-curricular activities at regular intervals to enable children to grow in confidence and to develop their leadership qualities. The following were some of the important events of the last academic year.

Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony, in which our students witness their captains and vice-captains take up their responsibility and profess their solemn oath of office, is one of the earliest and most important ceremonies of the school year. This year it was combined with the installation of the new Manager and Correspondent of St. Antony’s Institutions, Fr. Adrian Mascarenhas. The students displayed their unity and discipline through a well coordinated march past, with the school band providing the rhythm.

Talents Week

A week of talent competitions was conducted from 24-30 August, 2019. The kindergarten children took part in recitation, story-telling and fancy dress competitions, while other classes had activities depending on their age group. For the primary school, drawing, dance and singing were some of the important competitions while for the high school, “best out of waste”, cooking without a fire, flower decoration and rangoli making were some of the creative activities that brought out the best in the students. The winners were given certificates to encourage and appreciate them.

Sports Day

The Annual Athletic Meet, held on November 22, 2019, brought together a wide variety of sporting talent, involving children of different age groups. Every child was given the opportunity to participate, either in a display or in some of the sporting competitions. The well coordinated March Past and the drill displays helped to inculcate a sense of discipline and unity while the track and field events were an occasion for our young athletes to exhibit their prowess.

Annual Day

The School Annual Day is the most important cultural event in the life of the school, and takes place every December, before the Christmas holidays. This year it fell on December 19-20. Every class is expected to put up a cultural programme which could be a dance, a song, a skit or a pageant. This year, our Std. 9 and 10 students also made use of the opportunity to sell some of their homemade delicacies, in order to raise funds for financial assistance to less privileged children.

Science and Arts Exhibition

The Annual Science and Arts Exhibition brings together academics, creativity, hard work, patience and communication skills. The Exhibition was held on January 18, 2020, where the participants prepare models, charts and interactive exhibits, and carefully prepare themselves to explain the same to their audience which consists of parents, visitors, teachers, well wishers and their fellow students. They thereby cultivate their presentation skills and grow in knowledge through their hands on experience.
